Big Art for a Grand Town
The Fairhaven Summer Art Gallery brings serious, high-quality exhibitions to a uniquely accessible, community-rooted setting. For our second year (June 19 – August 2), the gallery presents a dynamic program that spans the full spectrum of art — from historic Fairhaven masters to emerging local voices and visiting artists from beyond the region.
This is not a single exhibition, but a living, evolving showcase. It reflects both the depth of Fairhaven’s artistic legacy and the energy of artists working today — all in conversation, all in one place.
A Living Exhibition
Throughout the season, the gallery will feature:
Works by historic Fairhaven artists, grounding the program in place and legacy
Contemporary pieces by local artists who shape the region’s creative identity today
Visiting artists who bring new perspectives, expanding the dialogue beyond the South Coast
Together, these voices create a layered experience — one that moves across time, style, and scale. The goal is simple: to show that serious, compelling, and diverse art belongs here, and that it can be encountered in a way that feels immediate and alive.
Rooted in Place
Fairhaven offers a rare combination of architectural presence, coastal beauty, and untapped cultural potential. The gallery builds on these strengths, creating an experience that connects art with the town itself — its streets, its history, and its seasonal rhythm.
Staffed by people who know the town intimately, the gallery becomes more than a viewing space. It becomes a point of connection — guiding visitors not just through the work on the walls, but through Fairhaven as a place worth returning to.
What We’re Building
The 2025 and 2026 seasons are a foundation. It demonstrates a commitment to curatorial rigor, thoughtful installation, and a program that draws audiences from across the region while remaining grounded in the local community.
Through exhibitions, events, and the presence of working artists, the gallery creates a cultural experience that is both elevated and accessible — where long-time residents, first-time visitors, collectors, and curious passersby all find a point of entry.
Why It Matters
Art has the power to shape how a place is seen — and how it sees itself. By presenting work that ranges from historic to contemporary, local to visiting, the Fairhaven Summer Art Gallery positions the town as a place where culture is not imported, but actively made and shared.
Big Art doesn’t require distance or formality. It requires intention, context, and a setting that allows it to resonate.
Fairhaven is that setting.
